    Eman Ytirucsbo Inn

Post by ★Yuki~♪ on Mon Sep 14, 2015 4:08 am

The stillness of the late-night is almost overwhelming at the height of the season of beauty. The dark streets, barely illuminated by the soft humming, magic, street-lamps, abandoned for the night in favor of well deserved sleep with only dark and shadows to welcome any late wanderers. One such finds himself in this exact scenario as he walks along the mainstreet of the southern recudor district. The harbor city was well known as a cultural hub, and the seat of power for the renowned Traders Guild, which made the man only wonder why he had never found the time to visit before.

Sartana is quickly reminded of his lack of shelter for the ngiht by the cold seabreeze wafting through the empty street. The dark alleys and dim moonshine acting as an equally grim reminder that a city with such great diversity and fortune can come with it's own dangers. Despite that, there was a comforting feel to the night and Sartana remains confident and sharp as he looks down at the crudely drawn directions one of the guards had given him.

It's been a long ways of travel since the last town he had been at, and it would do him good to rest on a proper bed for the night. One of the local Inns would be the perfect resting place for this occasion. Standing before it he takes in the appearance of the building, wedged in between housing, with big blue carpet-like banners hanging on each side of the double door. The banners displayed a shield with the guise of a fox, its left half burning with silver flame, and swords crossing beneath it. Based on his experience he could imagine it to be some den, though it didn't carry such a feel to it. Then again, they never tend to.
He steps forward and opens one of the doors, taking a brief look inside before stepping in himself. The strong odor of sweet ale and sweat, barely masked by fragranted candles and magic scents, wafts over him, replacing the previous chill from the outside.

The place is gorgeous, but just as empty as the streets behind Sartana. Every inch of the place is shining spit-bright and gold, blue, and silver banners and decore is all over the place. The main room is overshadowed by two large staircases on each side of a central stage, and the bar besides it. There are many tables all aside from one, which has a passed out drunk sprawled across it and the woman at the bar, are empty. "Welcome." The woman says in a friendly tone, picking up a glass and putting it on the table for the newcomer. "It's pretty late... Looking for a place to stay?" she asks.

Letting his eyes roam across the room, Sartana marvelled at the inns furnishings before removing his hat in respect. Turning to the bar, he spoke to the woman. “Thank you Miss, but I fear your inn is too rich for my pockets to handle.” As he spoke, he strode over and leaded against the counter separating them. While he idly inspected the glasses she had placed for him, Sartana could feel weariness begin to over take him.

The Innkeeper smiles at him as she begins to fill his glass. "On the house, then..." she says, sheepishly eyeing the door to the kitchen. "Just this once." she continues and picks up a glass to clean it as she speaks. "There has been some trouble in town lately, I'm afraid. So business is scarce the last few days. Especially with the recent festival ending. A free customer won't change that for the worse." she flashes him another smile and leans against the counter. "You look a little rough around the edges. What brings you here, friend?"

Taken back by the offer, Sartana froze up for a second. “No charge, you’re not joking about that?” he said trying to hide his shock at the offer. Noticing her glance at the kitchen he pulled up a seat and placed his hat on the counter. Focusing back on the woman, he chuckled before saying “yeah, I guess I am getting a little rough. It’s been a long time since I’ve slept on anything that wasn’t the ground.”

"Understandable." the woman says and puts the clean glass below the counter. "Road's closed with all of what's been going on lately, and most people who do travel are leaving, rather than coming. And there's not much in the way of cities on the way here."

She walks over to another part of the counter and pulls forth a box full of various keys, taking one and removing the seal on it. "This one is yours. Left staircase, third on the left." she says and hands Sartana the key. "Though, you'll have to manage breakfast yourself, if you'll have any. Even with the festival we don't have enough traffic currently to warrant the cooking for free. The rooms wont run away however." she pauses a moment, writing his number down in a guest book and then hands him the book. "Sign here with your full name and the duration of your stay. Excuse me."

And with that she makes her way off to the kitchen. Likely to change shifts with another one of the Innkeepers.

Sartana gives the guestbook a brief glimpse. It seems that just recently a good number of people signed in to stay, all of which left at the same time. Maybe an extended family, or something else entirely. Either way there were barely any rooms taken for this night, all the better for him as he would not have to walk too far to get to his room.

As the thought leaves his mind the room begins to chill a little. The cold feel of staring eyes pricking at the mans back with great intensity. Sartana turns vaguely, staring about the room. Still just the drunk, no sign of the Innkeeper. Perhaps the hint of doubt was justified after all. But no, he is simply greeted by the big, well lit, empty hall.

Untill he turns to face the bar again, noticing the distinct silhouette of a human besides him. When he dares to look he is quickly calmed by the rather unalarming presence of a young girl with long flowy black hair, wearing a rather out-of-style black gothic dress and the appropriate accessories.
By now all the tension that had previously filled the room is completely vanished and the girl sips her drink through a small red straw, paying no mind to the man next to her as if he had been the one to sit next to her, rather than the other way around.

The empty sucking sound of the straw finally signalizes the end of her beverage and she absent-mindedly runs her finger along the rim of the glass, causing it to make a faint humming tone each lap around the top.

Sartana raised his eyebrows in slight confusion at the sudden appearance of the girl before going back to leafing through the pages of the guestbook. “I didn’t know they made dressed like that anymore” he comment causally to her, finally filling out the details of his visits. He finished by signing his name with a clean X before closing the book gently and setting it aside.

The girl stops for a moment, and then puts her glass aside, resting her arms on the counter afterwards. "It's quite beautiful, isn't it?" she says in an unbelievably young and cute voice.

She turns her head towards the man speaking to her, and this is the first time her face isn't obscured by her long beautiful hair, revealing a black blindfold covering her porcelain skin. "It's really quite strange, and in a way, I suppose, incredibly convenient that you should come here at such a time." an almost creepy smile forms at the corner of her lips as she seemingly stares straight at Sartana without being able to properly see, if at all. Slowly the room begins to fill with a familiar chill as the girl turns a bit further and hands him a small black book with faintly glowing purple runes hovering a hairs width above it. "You'll need this~" she says, with an almost tauntive tone as suddenly the door to the kitchen swings open and the Innkeeper steps out, momentarily taking Sartanas attention off the girl besides him.

He immediately turns back to face her again but she is gone, simply vanished, from her seat. With no trail of her, or anyone at the door. Only the small black notebook remains on the desk, besides the guest book. "Did you sign the book? My shift is almost over, so you should hurry to your room before my boss starts asking questions." she says with a hearty giggle as she takes the guest book. "Please have a good stay." she says and gives Sartana a quick bow before walking off back into the kitchen.

Watching her leave until out of sight before eyeing the place where the young girl had sat no less than a second ago. “hmmmm, well that was abnormal. She was defiantly a ghost.” Sartana muttered to himself, before remembering the book. Sure enough, next to him lay the small black book. “So that makes you a ghost book” he said to the book, sit lying motionlessly on the bar counter. Sartana lightly scooped up the book with his arm, being careful not to make skin contact with it. Fighting back a yawn, he checks his key numbers before wandering off down the hall to find his room. Sleeping in a real bed takes priority over a under aged girl and ghost books, those can wait.

Sartana makmes his way up the left staircase, finding his room rather quickly. It's small. Only big enough to fit one person and the bed is nothing to marvel at either, though with the way he is feeling it will likely seem like the king's bed to him.

Sure enough the bright light piercing through the window eventually wakes the man up. A quick scan of the room reveals he has put his stuff on a nearby little table and passed out on the bed immediately upon making contact with the pillow. He feels noticeably rested, compared to the last week. He gets out of bed and decides to take a quick peek outside. There are noticeably many more people out and about today. In fact; the streets are rather full with people. There are a few random stands lined along the main road, many of them empty, but just across the street he can see a decently big market surrounded by various stores: The southern district's market.

Well known for its great variety in goods and people, and the close proximity to so many Inns and Bars and even a Church and the High-Class District, where all the posh and rich resided. Any information or general goods he would be able to find here, including some more obscure odds and ends. And the Trader's Guild and the Militia's Bounty Board aren't far either. Food, Weapons, Equipment, and Information... so this would be a good starting place to explore and see what there is to see.
Sartana turns towards the rest of the room, remembering about not only the book but also the fact that he would not be served breakfast today, as a free customer. A good start into the day.

Putting his hat back on his head and buttoning up his duster, Sartana made his way out into the busy street. His stomach grumbled quietly, and reminded him to find something to eat. Turning, he began making his way up one side of the street, keeping an eye out for any vendors. This city had certainly came alive this morning he though. Picking up a newspaper from a pile that he passed, he began to skim the paper’s pages.
